Continuing with our annual tradition of taking a look at brand anniversaries, let’s take a look at which brands will be celebrating in 2018 — from mixed martial arts to comic book characters to baking yeast. To commemorate its first quarter century in business, Ultimate Fighting Championship introduced a 25th anniversary logo that’s being used in the mixed martial arts organization’s broadcasts, social and digital platforms, and on merchandise throughout the year.

50 years of Puma Suede
Celebrating 50 years of Puma Suede means honoring the sneaker’s legacy through partnerships with brands and icons in music, fashion, street, and pop culture to introduce “50 unique drops of the silhouette” and re-releases of its OG styles. The anniversary campaign launches with a partnership with track athlete and African American activist Tommie Smith.
Congratulations Special Olympics on 50 years!
In honor of its semicentennial, Special Olympics is “celebrating 50 years of joy, courage, and empowerment.” Since the first Special Olympics games were held in Chicago, Illinois, during July 2018, Special Olympics International, Special Olympics Illinois, and Special Children’s Charities in Chicago will jointly host nearly a week of events, including a Global Day of Inclusion where the public can join in athletic competition with Special Olympics athletes. The 2018 Special Olympics USA Games will be held in Seattle, Washington July 1–6, 2018.
100 years of Chevy Trucks
The 1918 One-Ton was the first purpose-built Chevrolet truck. The company is celebrating 100 years with a special Centennial Edition for its Colorado and Silverado 1500 models, along with centennial-themed hats, shirts, jackets, camping gear, and more in its store. Happy 25th anniversary, Power Rangers!
This year, the comic book publisher behind the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers comic series, BOOM! Studios, has put together a hardcover edition of artwork spanning all 25 years of Power Rangers history, called the “Power Rangers Artist Tribute.” The brand’s anniversary campaign slogan is “You’ve Got the Power!” and a 25th anniversary TV special will air, along with the introduction of new legacy Power Rangers toys.
John Deere — 100 years of tractors
John Deere has planned a series of events to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the company’s entrance into the tractor business. In addition to commemorative badges on several models of 2018 John Deere tractors, among the events planned, the company’s 1918 Waterloo Boy tractor will be featured at the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History, where the museum's American Enterprise exhibition will mark 2018 as the year of the tractor.
LEGO, can it really be 60 years?
Kids of every age will be celebrating the 60th anniversary of LEGO’s popular construction bricks with new LEGO sets packaged in old-style boxes featuring colored stripes representing the basic LEGO colors that are emblazoned with an anniversary logo (pictured below). Each set will include a printed 2” × 4” tile to commemorate the anniversary.
Fleischmann’s Yeast celebrates 150 years
Fleischmann’s, the oldest baker’s yeast company and the first standardized commercial yeast was introduced in the US in 1868 by Austrian brewer Charles Fleischmann and his brother Maximilian. The brand, now part of AB Mauri’s portfolio of products, created a special anniversary logo:
Tokyo Disneyland celebrates its 35th anniversary
Tokyo Disney Resort and Tokyo DisneySea will be celebrating a “Happiest Celebration!” from April 15, 2018 through March 25, 2019, marking 35 years since the grand opening of the Tokyo Disneyland Park in 1983. New entertainment is planned, including a new daytime parade and nighttime spectacular, an anniversary theme song, the re-opening of “It’s a Small World,” along with anniversary merchandise.
Panasonic’s “100 years of Ideas”
