In the mood for a cool, crispy beer? A Biëryoncé, perhaps?
Well, you won't be able to get that particular brand much longer, thanks to Beyoncé. Brooklyn-based Lineup Brewing recently received a cease-and-desist letter from the singer demanding that it stop selling its "Beyoncé-inspired" pilsner.
The brewery's owner, Katarina Martinez, told Pitchfork she was disappointed at the singer's legal action: "As a Hispanic, female-run business, I am very inspired by her so I thought I’d pay homage.”
The beer was a one-time batch that is now available in New York only while supplies last. But you'll still be able to get Lineup's other beers inspired by performers, including "Under Pressure" (David Bowie and Freddie Mercury), "Notorious" (Notorious B.I.G.), and "I Bet You Think This Beer Is About You (Carly Simon).
Maybe Beyoncé simply prefers 'Lemonade.'
